It’s a beat-up ’78 Chevy with a dream to cross 1,000 miles of Mexican desert. It’s me, a broke dad from Texas, chasing something that looks impossible — and doing it anyway. The name? That comes from home. My wife calls me and the kids raccoons because we’re always up too late, tearing things apart. And my initials? SS. So here we are.
The truck ran Baja before, built by folks with real grit. Names like Soy de Rancho and The Built Bed. It’s got desert blood in its veins. Now it’s getting a second life — patched up, reworked, and ready to run.
But SS Racoon ain’t just steel and rubber. It’s for every kid who grew up dreaming of building something wild. Every grown-up who feels stuck and needs a shot of adrenaline and purpose. Every blue-collar worker who spends all day making someone else rich and still finds the energy to chase their own thing at night.
